Join our new series, Your Body Tells a Story, a virtual creative circle that centers your body's truth. This is an invitation for your inner storyteller to draw from personal experience and create a new narrative about how you relate to your body.
Here by demand, since our early summer workshop was such a success, this special series will meet on zoom August: 14, 21, & 28 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST.
Yoga for Eating Disorders teacher and Brave Writing Workshops Founder Babette Dunkelgrun blends her own recovery journey with her years as an instructor of writing and mindful movement to offer you a safe space for exploration. You will have the option to tell your story or share with the group, and meet others on the healing path.
The individual sessions will build on each other. You'll come away from each session feeling inspired to view your body in the powerful way that only happens when we strip away the external noise. All are welcome.
This event will take place on Zoom, and you will be sent a link in advance to join. Honoring collective anonymity, there will be no recordings. By attending these sessions, you will receive a diverse blend of reading samples and weekly journaling/writing practices.
What People Are Saying About Your Body Tells a Story Workshops
“Babette helped to create a safe space for each of us to explore a difficult topic. I really loved reading excerpts from established authors and looking at how each approached describing the body. It brought me a new awareness of how I write about my body and offered new angles from which to write. Since language is so deeply connected to how we relate to ourselves and the world around us, having examples of new ways to write my own story is hugely beneficial.” -Lesa T, Pennsylvania
“Babette was so welcoming and compassionate. She met me where I was. It is clear she enjoys what she does. The "no writing experience necessary" was also an important aspect for me. She was accessible via email and sent us follow-up prompts and other resources.” -Erin, Iowa
“I most enjoyed the poetry and the group sharing and discussion. I learned at least as much from the other participants writing as I did my own!” -Susie V, Arizona
