Finding Your Groove in ED Recovery

A 6-week Group Coaching Program Designed to Inspire Confidence & Clarity as You Walk Your Unique Path in Eating Disorder Recovery

You are invited to join us for Finding Your Groove in ED Recovery, a group coaching course beginning April 9 where you will receive guidance on how to thrive while recovering from disordered eating, as well as gain practical tools to overcome the obstacles disrupting your relationship with food, body, and self.

Over 6 weeks of psychoeducation and guided community discussions led by Haley Schiek, Certified Professional Eating Disorder Recovery Coach, we will tackle how to deprogram from social messages that normalize disordered eating and fuels body dissatisfaction. Each weekly zoom session is designed to empower you to cultivate the willingness and courage to break free of diet culture and walk your own unique path to recovery. You will learn how to collaborate with your body while building clarity and confidence in your decisions related to food and beyond.

This coaching group begins Wednesday, April 9 and is an ideal complement to your work with a therapist, dietician, and other care providers. Folks of all genders and stages of recovery 18 years of age and older are welcome! For ages 16 to 17, a parental “sponsor” is required.

Meet the Facilitator

Haley Schiek, Certified Professional Eating Disorder Recovery Coach

Haley Schiek is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), Yoga Teacher (E-CYT 250), & Peer Educator (CPE) who specializes in eating disorder recovery and psycho-spiritual wellness. She is the owner and founder of Cosana Coaching. “Cosana” is a made-up word with latin roots, “co” meaning “with” and “-sana” meaning health, wholeness, and healing. Cosana speaks to Haley’s belief that the deepest healing happens in community, when we work together. As a coach, Haley is here to serve your partner in healing & friend in recovery.

Having overcome anorexia, binge eating, and bulimia herself, Haley integrates her professional training in western psychology & eastern spiritual practices with her lived experience in eating disorder recovery to empower clients to overcome self-hate, reclaim their health, and achieve tangible recovery goals that enable them to live a pleasurable, present, values-driven life free from the horrific cycle of dieting for weight loss and the fear of losing control with food.

Haley’s recovery programs focus on restoring hope and personal power (as opposed to promoting discipline and control). Haley facilitates discussions about health using a holistic, systemic lens, taking particular care to understand how her clients’ socio-cultural status, gender, and identity intersect with external power structures (i.e. Diet Culture, Sexism, and “The Bikini Industrial Complex”) to impact their mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.

Haley has a decade of experience teaching yoga, facilitating classes and workshops across the United States, from the Coral Pink sand dunes of southern Utah to oceanfront classes in Puerto Rico. For Haley, yoga is about connecting with the heart, regulating the nervous system, slowing down the mind, and caring for the body. Understanding that each individual is a source of divine knowledge, Haley facilitates classes that encourage students to connect to the teacher within.

Haley’s work has been featured in several publications and podcasts. To learn more about Haley, read her personal story.

What Participants Have to Say about Haley’s Recovery Programs

“Hi Haley! Just wanted to tell you how much I got out of the group today. I was sharing with my husband how good you are at what you do, and I just thought I would share it with you as well! Thank you.”

—A mom & clinical case manager in her 40s

"Since starting coaching, things have changed drastically for me. I have found ways to protect my body from my own thoughts, recognizing the power of being present in my body versus objectifying myself through a media lens. These lessons in compassion & acceptance have also bled through to help heal my imposter syndrome and find joy in my research again!"

—A PhD Student in her 20s

“I thought that your introduction into diet culture and fatphobia last night was very well presented. You have an engaging & calm manner that was very easy to listen to. The group was very enjoyable, and educational. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion.”

—A mental health professional in his 40’s

“Haley is a great coach! I have been struggling with an eating disorder for most of my life. Last year I started gaining weight and I was really down on myself. Haley was able to get me back on track with an action plan and some new goals. She is 30 years younger than me but you would never know it. She has wisdom well beyond her years. She is kind, caring, and extremely smart. She also has a way of calling me out on my stuff when I get down on myself. She has been a true blessing to me!”

—A CEO in his 50’s

“Now I understand the difference between power and control. I used to strive to control myself— my body, my weight, my food— to feel powerful. That’s why I would restrict. Now I realize this just gave me the illusion of power (and control of my life). I am still figuring out how to healthily empower myself, but this is a good start.”

—A mental health professional in her 20’s

“I attended The Women's Burnout Repair & Prevention Retreat. It was a safe & welcoming environment. The clinic was a comprehensive program that was easy to reference and share with my mother & daughter. Haley gave step by step methods to identify, eliminate & manage stressors. It was a pleasure to get to know her. She is an amazing young woman who is way ahead of the game! If you have the chance to participate with Cosana Coaching don't pass it up!”

—A surfer & veterinarian in her 50’s
