At this free CE event co-hosted by Fusion Academy and Monte Nido & Affliates, I will be presenting on anxiety, trauma, and the mind-body connection.
In recent years, a growing number of peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated the importance of the mind-body connection in treating anxiety and trauma. The various manifestations of anxiety in response to trauma are complex, and often exacerbated by the social pressures of the digital age. Movement practices with an emphasis on mindfulness, such as Yoga, and other mind-body techniques that downregulate the nervous system are helpful tools for students dealing with anxiety, a history of trauma, or both. This training will address the relationship between anxiety and trauma, educate about the mind-body connection, and through experiential exercises, demonstrate simple yet significant tools to bring into the classroom. From general performance anxiety to post traumatic stress disorder, these mind-body tools are safe and tap directly into the body and mind’s ability to restore calm and presence.
